Search Engine Optimisation Services Specialist Discusses Website SEO Part 1

The first step in your campaign to market your website from a search engine optimisation standpoint is that you must create and place an “About Me” page on your website. When you do this the person visiting your website gets a real good feel for who they are doing business with. This is very important. If people are going to do business with an SEO services specialist they do not need to know how rich he or she is, they want to know what their experience and practical successes have been with search engine optimisation.

They want to deal with real people who are interested in genuinely helping other people succeed by providing proven reliable practical and successful SEO techniques and services. The more sincere and honest you are the easier it is to convey that message through and on your website. Also, keep this “About Me” principle in mind when you are configuring your website.

Ok, so let us go through the procedure, step by step, of what to do and how to approach your marketing campaign for your website. One. As discussed and detailed before, the title of your website is the search category that your website will land in on the Google search engine. The title must be keyword specific. This is a critically important SEO principle.

The title must have the words of the opportunity, service or product that you are marketing through your website. Be very focussed with your keywords and keyword phrases. Stay focussed right from the beginning of your website marketing campaign and follow through with a focussed approach to the end. Focus on one keyword area. Don’t broaden out your keywords.

How Excellent SEO Writing Can Benefit Your Company Or Website

Before you can understand why SEO writing can benefit your company or website you need to know exactly what SEO is. SEO is a term that stands for Search Engine Optimized (or Optimization) which is a marketing technique that is popular and being used all over the World Wide Web. People, who ultimately could be new customers, use the various search engines to find services they need or products they want online. The results the search engine provides will usually be returned in the forms of pages of website links. It is a fact that most people only glance at the first five websites before they choose a link to visit. The goal of your websites SEO content is to make sure that your website will sit as high up on the search engines results as possible. This is where SEO writing comes into the equation.

The popular search engines will use a wide range of different methods in order to collect your websites information that will then appear in the search engine results. SEO writing is based around the use of keywords that will be written into your websites content. Keywords are words that are most likely used when someone searches for the service or products you provide on the internet. Identifying the best keywords for your SEO content can take a bit of time and energy but the end results will be well worth the effort. An excellent SEO writer will be able to use the keywords that are best suited for your website and will write the content as keyword dense as needed to help increase your search engine rank. An excellent writer will be able to incorporate the keywords in such a way that will allow not only for good reading material that will draw your customers in but will also please the search engines too.

Excellent SEO writing will result in your website having improved search engine results which means that you will see an increase in traffic to your website. The more traffic that comes to your website will mean more sales for your company. This is the direct link between quality SEO content and increased profit for your business.

You might already have a good idea of the keywords you want your content to be written around or you could rely on your chosen SEO writer to suggest the keywords to help you get the best search engine results possible. SEO writing can also be used for articles that can be submitted to article directories. These articles will then provide links back to your website which will make your business more visible to new customers. Many SEO writers will also provide a submission service to article directories.

Excellent SEO content can help improve your presence on the internet. The key to finding great SEO content is to find a writer or a company that can provide you with personal service that will meet all your needs.

How Do I Get Traffic to My Website

Traffic is the lifeblood of any website. You need traffic to make money. Without it, your website is dead. The only reason the gurus are making a ton of money and you’re not is because they get tens of thousands of visitors to their websites every month. If you want to succeed online, then you need to get traffic. Now, you might be saying, “But dude, I already know how important traffic is. I only want to know how do I get traffic to my website.”

I’m glad you asked that. So many people keep blabbering about the importance of traffic and all that and yet they fail to explain how to actually get that bit of traffic. But don’t worry, I’ll share many of my traffic generation methods in this article. But before I move on, allow me to talk about some very important things…

Unless you’re a yeti who’s been living in a cave for the past 27 years, you must have come seen or even heard about products saying to have the secret to riches and to the life of your dreams. The truth is that there is no such secret. I’m sorry to disappoint you but that’s a fact. Stop buying those kinds of products. You’re just wasting your time and money.

Let me spill the beans right here, right now. The “secret” to making money is traffic. You need traffic to make any amount of cash, period. Think about it, how is it possible to make money if there’s no one whom you can sell to?

Here are the techniques I use to get traffic to my website:

Search Engines

Search engines are an awesome source of traffic. There are millions of billions of searches on Google every month, encompassing almost every topic imaginable. No matter what other people might be telling you, search is still the primary way through which people find out stuff.

Now there are 2 ways to get hoards of visitors from search engines like Google. The first is from the organic search listings. This is obviously free. The second is from purchasing a spot in the sponsors section (the yellow section that you see on the right of the organic lists on Google is the sponsors’ section). This is paid and generally you’ll have to shell out money for every click.

You can boost your chances of getting on the natural (organic) listings more than ten times if you do some Search Engine Optimization. Optimizing your website for search engines gives it a high possibility of getting on the first page for your keywords.

Ok, now let’s move on to article marketing…

Article Marketing

I’m sure you know what an article directory is. If you don’t, then shame on you! Just kidding. Well an article directory is mainly like a tank or pool of articles. The authors of these articles give free reprint rights to their articles and they include an author resource box, in which they can promote their website, in the articles. Webmasters and ezine publishers go to these directories looking for articles to reprint on their websites. In this way, the authors of the articles get free publicity and the website owners and ezine publishers get free content. It’s a true win-win for both parties.

Well, article marketing involves creating and submitting articles to directories such as EzineArticles.com. You pick a suitable keyword, target your article around it, and submit it to an article directory. That’s the basic gist of article marketing.

Yahoo! Answers

Yahoo! Answers is a great way to drive some targeted traffic to your website. Yahoo Answers is a question-answer website. That is, it’s a place where people ask and answer questions.

Now Yahoo Answers isn’t the only question-answer site out there. There are many others but Yahoo Answers has the highest traffic of all of them. Thousands of questions are posted on Answers every day. It really is the king of all question-answer sites.

To use Yahoo Answers as a traffic generation tool, all you have to do is:

  1. Pick a category related to your website
  2. Start answering questions in that category

Quite simple, eh?

Practicing Responsible Data Storage Management

Just about everyone relies on computers these days. A great deal of information is kept on a number of hard drives and servers in both home and business environments. Knowing that there is always the possibility of a system failure, many people make sure to back up essential data. Here are a few tips to help you manage an effective and responsible data storage management process.

The first rule of thumb in any data storage management process is to set up a regular schedule for backing up the data. This may involve a schedule that is anywhere from a weekly backup to one that occurs two or three times a day. There are several factors to consider in setting up the frequency.

First, how often is your data updated? Second, how essential is your data to the operation of your business? Third, how much effort and expense would be involved in re-entering data if the last backup was done a week ago, versus yesterday? Responsible management begins with setting up routine backups that will make the best use of your time and other resources.

Next, there is the need to decide on the type of backup device you will use. Some people prefer to save data on disk. In environments where servers are used, many businesses choose to have the data on a primary server backed up to a secondary server. Still others choose to store the data on a remote server, via an Internet connection. All three are examples of effective data storage, since it is possible to retrieve all data up to the point of the last backup within minutes.

Last, review your backed up data now and then. The reason for this is to make sure your backup process is working properly. If you find that your current structure of data storage makes it hard to remember to routinely save some obscure file that is rarely used but is absolutely essential, then you may need to tweak your process. Also, there is a chance some data in some fields is not carrying over for some reason. Unless you do a periodic check, chances are you won’t know this until a system failure and you find data is missing from the last backup.

Does the Future of Computing Lie in Plastic?

With computers evolving at such a rapid rate, it can be quite difficult to stay on top of what’s new and happening in the field. One day it’s cloud computing, the next it’s quantum. The latest news from Silicon Valley is that silicon might just be on its way out, as plastic muscles in on the action. As reported on ScienceDaily.com, July’s edition of Physics World includes a feature on developments in the field of plastic-based transistors and organic light-emitting displays by three prominent Israeli researchers.

Marianna Khorzov and David Andelman from the School of Physics and Astronomy at Tel Aviv University, and Rafi Shikler from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Ben Gurion University, have made some exciting discoveries about plastic electronics that could completely change the face of laptops as we know them.

As far back as the 1970s, it was discovered that not all plastics are electricity insulators, but that some do in fact conduct electricity. It’s only now, however, that the potential uses for this discovery are coming to light.

One of these uses is in the design and manufacture of flexible laptops. Plastic-based transistors could soon replace their silicon counterparts as standard in all laptops, as they are easier and cheaper to manufacture. And as plastic is flexible and malleable, it would relatively to easy to create ultra-thin, ultra-flexible laptops.

Organic light-emitting displays could also revolutionise computing, as well as the world of entertainment. Traditional methods currently used in television screens, iPods and digital watches are rigid, complex and expensive, while the new organic displays, which are based on plastic electronics engineering, are flexible, consume less energy and are easier to make. Organic light-emitting displays are currently being developed by some of the biggest names in electronics, including Sony and Samsung.

Another field likely to benefit from these developments is that of bionics, where the development of sensitive, flexible materials will soon be able to replicate skin. This marks an important breakthrough in robotics, as robots could be developed to function in situations where a sense of touch is essential.

Khorzov, Andelman and Shikler have high hopes for their discoveries. They write that they expect their new plastic materials to eventually replace silicon and metals in a variety of products. In addition, they hope that their discoveries will encourage development in a range of other scientific fields, including robotics and bionics.

Having Backup Data Is Always Recommended

No matter if the files that you are dealing with are personal or business related, keeping backup data is extremely important. The hard fact is that all computers, no matter how well built, are subject to failure at some point.

The failure of one small computer component can result in lost data. While the loss of personal information can be heartbreaking, when businesses suffer the loss or corruption of data it can mean lost time, money and in some cases clients.

While some systems are set up to recover deleted files, it depends on the type of problem that has caused the information loss. Unfortunately, some problems cannot be easily repaired.

Whether your business is a small operation or a larger, upscale enterprise, if it utilizes a computer system to store files, then there is a need to have backup data. Your company has no doubt spent several man hours, not to mention the money spent paying employees, working on the information that is contained in your files.

These files can be lost in a matter of seconds when an unforeseen problem occurs. It should be of the utmost importance to make sure that the information in those files is protected. Fortunately, in this day and age there are several options available for data backup and recovery.

Technology has made it relatively easy for businesses to restore backed up data. Companies can utilize several options from CD-R’s, CD-RW’s and DVD’s to NAS and SAN Storage. NAS stands for network-attached storage, while SAN is for storage area network.

NAS operates on data files and is a single storage system and SAN uses a local network of multiple devises operating on disk blocks. Having one or more backup resources can be extremely important to your business. The key is finding out which system will work best for your file system and computer set up.

No matter what system you use for backup data, the important thing is that you do something. Imagine working on various projects for months, only to lose all of the information in the blink of an eye. These situations are definitely unfortunate for all involved, but simply hoping that your system will always be up and running is not a good solution.

If you are not sure which system would be best for your business, then try researching different types of backup services that are available. A lot will depend on the amount of files that will need to be backed up and of course on the system that you are running. Researching recovery services now will save you time and money if you are forced to look for a data recovery service later.

Is Your Business Prepared For a Disaster?

Is your business prepared for a disaster? A couple of years ago the world watched as New Orleans almost became the ‘Lost City of Atlantis’. Hurricane Katrina almost completely destroyed this historic city on the Mississippi. Homes, lives, and businesses were lost in the matter of just a few days. Many of those businesses had enough warning to enable them to move vital information to secure spots. Unfortunately, many more chose to ’stick it out’ in hopes that the storm and surge would pass by them.

Most people who live along coastal waterways know there is the possibility that they will be subject to some kind of natural disaster. Businesses put plans in effect that will help them relocate in case of emergencies. But what would you do if your small community seems impervious to natural disasters? We live in a relatively safe place here in Idaho. We do not get hurricanes; we rarely have tornados, and when we do the most damage it usually does is tip over somebody’s tractor or throw their swing set into a tree; we can have some harsh winters but not anything that can’t be dealt with. But, recently an event happened that should make every small town that sits in the mountains take notice.

A fire started in the mountains near Sun Valley, Idaho. It quickly grew to many thousands of acres, threatening the towns of Ketchum, Sun Valley, and Elkhorn. They, or at least parts of them, were evacuated for several days. Did these towns have a week or two notice, like they did with hurricane Katrina? No, they had only a few hours notice for the citizens of those communities to grab whatever belongings they could carry and evacuate. Fortunately the fire was contained and few reports of lost property were reported.

This brings up several questions:

  • What would you do in your business if this happened in your community?
  • How would you safeguard your property?
  • How would you transfer vital documents and supplies to safe areas?
  • What would happen to your information technology infrastructures?
  • How would you conduct business if you were forced to leave your place of business for an extended time?

These same questions were repeatedly asked on September 11, 2001, the day the World Trade Center towers were attacked and destroyed, by many businesses throughout this land and beyond.

These same questions need to be asked today?

Disaster preparedness is not just about stocking food in case you can’t get to the store. For businesses it is about preparing to function in extreme circumstances, preparing to secure key components of their business from possible damage, and preparing to not only survive, but prosper when all around them seems to be in chaos.

How have you prepared your business in the event of an emergency?

How to Drive Web Traffic to Your New Web Site

Although this book focuses primarily on getting your web site itself up and running, I want to give you some basic information on the next few steps, once you are up and running. This is truly basic information, and I highly recommend purchasing some quality information on these topics, if you are serious about becoming extremely effective online.

But this will give you an idea of what I do, and what works for me.

Traffic Generation

Traffic generation is critical to the success of your web site. No matter how great your web site is, and how well it converts, if you do not have traffic, you do not have a web business. I do not recommend buying traffic of any sort, although if you do, I have covered the basics of generating traffic from a number of sources, including paid traffic, in my List Building Manifesto.

The 3 methods I have used to build my highly profitable email list ($2 per subscriber per month by my 3rd month online) are article writing and submission (article marketing), ezine advertising, and JV partnerships. I will describe briefly how I use each of these.

Article Marketing

Article marketing involves writing short articles (300-1000 words each) articles on the topic of your web site or product, adding a link to your web site and a call to action at the end of the article, and submitting the article to online article directories.

The online article directories make the articles available to the search engines, to other article directories, and to ezine publishers who use articles as content for their ezines.

I recommend writing one article per month, and submitting it to all the directories I have listed, and submitting all the other articles you write each month to the first 5 directories on the list.

The purpose of submitting one article per month to multiple directories is that the search engines will see that you have many web sites with links to your web site, and generally will afford you a higher ranking in their search engine results if you have more inbound links.

However, after about the first 5-7 directories on that list, you will find that the direct response rate from the articles themselves is very low, so that is why I recommend submitting the bulk of your articles to just the first few on the list.

Ezine Advertising

Ezine advertising has produced some of my most responsive subscribers on my list. My theory for this is that if someone is on an ezine mailing list, and reads your ad and subscribes to your mailing list, that person is already a highly-responsive subscriber.

I prefer to buy soloads because they generally give me a higher response than classified or sponsor ads.

However, another approach to buying ezine ads would be to buy an inexpensive classified ad in each of several ezines, and the ones that give you a favorable response are candidates for buying soloads.

I do suggest buying at least 3-5 ads in 3-5 different ezines to start with, rather than just trying one. The reason for this is that some ezines will be responsive and some will not. If you just run one ad and get a lousy response, it will simply jade you against ezine advertising. If, however, you run several ads, you should get a good response on one or two of them, an OK response on one or two, and a lousy response on one or two, and then you can start making adjustments. You can either run a different ad in the non-performers, or simply drop them and add new ones, and increase the size of the ad in the ones that gave you a response.

Because it is important to know which ezines are producing a response, you must track each and every ad you run.

I recommend either using an adtracking program, or creating a separate web page for each ezine ad, and track the responses to each page by using a different autoresponder for each ezine ad.

I also recommend evaluating response and effectiveness by looking at the cost per subscriber or hit, versus the number of subscribers or hits you get versus the number of subscribers on the list.

For example, if you advertise in two ezines, one that has 1000 subscribers, and another that has 15,000, and you get exactly the same number of subscribers from each, what does that mean to you? As long as you paid exactly the same price for each ad, those ezines are exactly the same to you. Sure, the responsiveness of the bigger list was much less, but that really does not impact you, unless you paid more for the ad to the bigger list.

When you get started with ezine advertising, I certainly recommend buying several ezine ads in different ezines. In order to do this in a cost effective manner, decide on your budget. For example, you might be willing to spend $100 on ezine advertising. Next, divide that up between a number of ezines. For example you could choose to buy 3 soloads at $20 each, and then by 8 classified ads at $5 each. Then, once you have a return on your investment, you can spend more money, buying more expensive ads. But never spend more on advertising than you can afford to lose, especially when you are getting started and you have no idea what will produce a return for you.

JVs

JVs, or Joint Ventures, can have different meanings to different people, and some people become very adamant about the meaning and the use of the word. For my purposes, a joint venture is anything I do with another marketer that benefits both me and him or her.

For the purposes of building traffic and my list, one effective joint venture method is finding another marketer that has a list, and offering to do a mailing for his list in exchange for him doing a mailing for my list.

Does Web Design Really Build a Business?

There are those website owners that truly believe their website design is not that big of a deal to visitors. The same people will tell you how much appearance can make the difference and wouldn’t be caught dead dressed to the nines or having their make-up on. What is not understood is the difference and why these individuals do not realize that appearance matters in person and in the business world. Even if the business is only an internet based one, the website, layout and design is all the customer or visitor has of the business.

In fact, most marketing experts believe that the web design is more important on an online company because it is the only link between the visitor and company. After all they will not be walking into the store or visiting with the owner on the street corner, they communicate and navigate the website only. With that being said it makes sense that the appearance of the site must be professional, quality and cool!

Yes, that’s right - cool! Everyone likes to brag about how cool something is that they have seen, do or take part in. if the site has good graphics, layout and content the person is likely to take this information to others, therefore spreading the word. In business this word of mouth or viral marketing is the key to success. Without the advertisement of others, the business suffers. Be sure to take the time and spruce up the site, good colors, good graphics and awesome content! It will work, guaranteed!

Home Improvement and Small Bathroom Design

The bathroom is the only room in your house that you can guarantee everyone is going to visit sooner or later. It’s not a luxury it’s a necessity, everyone has to go. It’s the only room in your house that your guests will ask directions to.

It makes a lot of sense then, when you are making improvements to your home, to consider the bathroom as a very important target on your list because potentially it can make a very big difference.

To my surprise it seems that many people don’t put the bathroom top of their list when planning home improvements. This could be because they think that it’s too big a job or their bathroom is too small to do anything with. This isn’t necessarily the case.

Remember that improving a small bathroom doesn’t have to be about its physical size but more about it’s apparent size and how you give the illusion of space to your visitors. Choosing light colours, adding lighting around the edges of the bathroom and carefully placing a mirror or two are all inexpensive and relatively simple things you can do that can make a lot of difference in a small bathroom.

Reasons for improving your home

The main reasons that most people undertake home improvements fall mostly into the categories below:

  • Repairs
  • Improving your living standards
  • Increase the value of your property
  • Energy efficiency
  • Just because you can

Lets take each of these and see how they apply to your small bathroom.

Small Bathroom Repairs

Repairing leaky faucets, broken mirrors and cracked bathtubs are all things that you should be doing no matter what the size of your bathroom. The fact that the room is small might mean that there is less to go wrong but it also means that it could be more awkward to fix. There is no doubt that making repairs in the bathroom will improve your home to the benefit of your family and increase the value of your property.

Improving your living standards

Adding and improving the features in the most used room in the house can make a big difference to your living standards. Make the bathroom a place that you are happy to spend time in.

Increase the value of your property

This is a very important reason for creating the best small bathroom design that you can. When it comes to selling your property an impressive bathroom can make a very real difference. If you are planning to sell up soon then you should pay particular attention to your bathroom.

Energy efficiency

With a little thought with your small bathroom design you can make some energy savings and do your part for the good of the planet. By installing an on-demand water heater in the shower and taking showers instead of baths you can reduce your electricity and water usage. Replacing your toilet for a dual-flush type can also save water.

Just because you can

Some people just like a change and there isn’t anything wrong with that providing you have the money and the time.

Remember that redesigning a bathroom no matter how small can make a big difference to your life.
